30 Day Anime Challenge- Day 10: Favorite Fighter Anime
This Is a very hard genre to describe…. mostly because the term fighter anime encompasses such a wide range, is it limited to anime like Hajime no Ipo, Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter, or does anything with a strong emphasis on fighting fall under there. It should be called action rather than fighter in my opinion. Either way here’s my favorite.
Katanagatari.
You can sorta say this is monogatari’s estranged cousin, what with the similar name and same author and such. Katanagatari, or Sword story, was the product of NISIO ISSIN writing one novel a month for a year. While I can’t speak for the quality of the novels (since writing is tough yo, let alone writing a full length novel a month) but the Anime itself was phenomenal. The story was… a bit cliche, but what isn’t these days. It was the execution that made it as amazing as it was. Sticking to the original order of releasing once a month Katanagatari aired once a month in 2010 (and I hear it’s getting a re-air from Noitamina) and might I say what a year that was. Since it was a monthly anime Katanagatari had a lot of time to get everything right, the animation was crisp, clean, and beautiful (and might I add very unique), the music was perfect for setting the mood, and the dialogue was on par with any of the monogatari series, keeping your attention for the long periods of time that NISIO ISSIN is famous for. Each episode was about an hour long and you’ll be tuned in  and probably enjoy every moment of it.
